Ian Cahill

Non-Executive Chairperson

Ian spent more than 30 years with Ericsson in Ireland, in particular as Managing Director. Since 2003 he has been Chairman of the Boards of LM Ericsson (Holdings) Ltd and of LM Ericsson Ltd. He has been instrumental in several high-technology company start-ups and sits on a number of their Boards. He was Chairman of the University Industry Programme of University College Dublin (UCD) and instrumental in the realization of NovaUCD. He remains on its Board.

He is the Director of the National Institute of Technology Management, is a member of ICT Ireland and Chairman of Inner City Enterprise, and is a council member of the Irish Council for Science, Technology and Innovation.


Steven Collins

Non-Executive Director

Steven is the co-founder and former CTO of Havok, the world's leading physics and animation software company which provides solutions for game and movie production.

Steven is currently the manager of the graphics and vision research group, GV2, in Trinity College Dublin.

He is also the director of the Master's programme in Interactive Entertainment Technology and lectures on topics including 3D graphics and software engineering.


Fergal Shevlin

Chief Executive Officer

Fergal is Dyoptyka's Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Fergal oversees all strategic and technical aspects of the business. Fergal initially studied Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, and subsequently worked as a software engineer for Digital Equipment Corp. and Irish Life Assurance PLC. He then undertook an M.Sc. and Ph.D., and became a member of staff in the Dept. of Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin.

He recently spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher in the University of California at Berkeley. He has performed technical consultancy work for several companies, including MV Technology Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland), Con-Cise Contact Lens Co. (San Leandro, U.S.A.), Neurometrics Inc. (Berkeley, U.S.A.), and SoftFocal Inc. (Moraga, U.S.A.).

The company's informal Advisory Board includes: James Mahon (co-founder and CTO of MV Techology Ltd.---one of the most successful Irish technology companies, acquired by Agilent in 2001); Robert Mandell (Emeritus Professor of Optometry and Vision Science, University of California at Berkeley); Colin Newman (co-founder and ex-marketing director of both Iona Technologies PLC and Cape Clear Software Ltd), and Neville Harris (Emeritus Professor of Computer Science, Trinity College Dublin). Neville is a regular attendee at meetings of the Board of Directors.
